Here you can see some of the exciting things that take place in our class.
Our amazing visit to Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre on Thursday 8th June 2017
Representatives from 'The Grand' came to school to teach us some ballroom dancing. Watch out Strictly!
Class 3 enjoyed working with the Community Police to monitor the speed of motorinsts driving through Sabden. They especially loved the horses.
Year 6 have worked incredibly hard this week and I am so proud of them. They are happy that the last test is over now.
We were visited by the Ribble Valley dog warden. She taught us about responsible dog ownership. Year 5's put up posters asking people to 'pick up the poop'.

We love reading in Class 3, especially when sitting on our new beanbags!
The children in Year 5 and 6 entered a competition run by "Picture Art Gallery" in Padiham.
The task was to complete a poster titled:- 1940's Land, Sea and Air.
Two of our children received the first prize and runner up prize. Their artwork has been framed and is currently on display in the gallery window - so check it out!
A huge well done to the overall winner Alex Pollitt (artwork centre) and Annabel Salt (artwork right) who was awarded a runner up place.
We are really proud of you.
Class 3 Newsletter Summer 2
Best of luck to all our Year 6 pupils this week, we know you are all amazing!
A huge thanks to parents, grandparents, aunties and uncles for allowing the children to bring artefacts from World War 2 into school. We really enjoyed looking at them up close.
We are really enjoying our class novel When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit by Judith Kerr
All that was missing was a cup of tea as the children learnt about the features of a newspaper article.
Somebody came to school prepared for the day , after having new lights fitted in our classroom!
The children have been learning about the lifecycles of all different creatures. In these pictures they are researching the lifecycle of a creature of their choice.
Last half term, the children were learning about the parts of a plant. Here they are having a closer look at a lilly.

Our children were working on The Raise Project with The Grand in Clitheroe on a fortnightly basis last term.
These 3 talented ladies were the overall winners of our talent contest!
We wish our 3 girls the best of luck in the grand final of the "Raise" event at The Grand in Clitheroe on 15/04/16.

Problem Solving - Maths Day
Some of our children visited another school, along with many other schools, to take part in a maths day that challenged their using and applying skills.
Some of our children have been out visiting another school to take part in an inspirational writing morning. We were one of 5 schools who attended the event.

Class 3 Newsletter for the Spring term second half
British Science week - Investigating plants
The children were researching inventions and had to create a factfile of their choice of invention and inventor. They were very colourful!
As part of our music unit, the children wrote their own versions of the Louis Armstrong Classic, What a Wonderful world. These are examples of the children's planning.
Here are a few pictures from the children's experiment focussing on the effects of a light source on an objects shadow. They had a great time!

YEAR 6 SECONDARY SCHOOL CHOICE TIME!!
Now is the time that our Year 6 children and parents have a very important decision to make - deciding on which secondary school to go to!!!

Class 3's Summer 2 Class Newsletter
Key Stage 2 had an amazing time at Outdoor Elements Last week!!
Class 3 enjoyed investigating chemical reactions that produce carbon dioxide!
Class 3 performed their own versions of some traditional play scripts! They interpreted the characters, added stage directions and created new endings!
The children are currently hard at work creating their own Native American war bonnets! We aren't finished just yet though. Here are a few pictures to whet your appetite!
Taking on the role of teacher, explaining about the rotation of the earth on its axis and how we get seasons of weather. Well done!

Fabulous first week with Mr Smith. We have been learning about our surrounding area and the differences between natural and man made landscapes. We talked about valleys and how they were formed and used vocabulary like rills, brooks and tributaries. Try to share these words at home and explain what they mean. More exciting news has followed, with the addition to the unit of a trip. Find out more soon! Can you explain to a family member, what the above picture is and how it was formed?
